What you probably love the most during summer is a mortal enemy of tattoos; the sun. You already spent a lot of time and effort to have a tattoo and the idea that it may fade can be a cause of woe; not to mention all the topical anesthetic applied to your skin to keep you from crying like a baby. You don't have to cry out loud for God's sake. A little bit of science and discipline will keep it bold and colorful. Here are four of our best tips to keep your tattoo bright and beautiful.
Keep it clean.
If there's a first commandment to tattoo aftercare, this would be it. The first few weeks of a tattoo are the most crucial because a properly healed skin will ensure a long-lasting tattoo. Even if you can still the zing and regularly applying pain-relieving cream, washing your skin with mild anti-bacterial soap
Keep it moisturized.
Keeping it moisturized with a lotion that's free of fragrance will keep all things in tip-top shape. Why use a lotion that's fragrance-free? The chemicals on the fragrance might irritate your skin or worse, keep it from healing properly. We don't want that bad stuff to happen because it might leave a scar. That's a big no-no! Make sure to use products that are as safe as the topical anesthetic gel you used when you got inked; reliable and effective!
Keep it from being sun-fried.
Yes! The sun might be the love of your life but by the moment you finally have a tattoo, you might have to dump your love for good. But if you really can't settle with the idea of leaving your love, use a tattoo sunscreen. Mind the hours you’re under the sun. You don’t want to end up sunburnt and applying topical anesthesia to manage the pain!
Keep it bright.
Can you still remember the topical numbing spray being applied to your skin as you lay flat on the studio? It's good if you still do because it will motivate you from keeping your tattoos bright. Speaking of bright and beautiful tatts, have you tried skin brighteners? If you choose the right brand, the ones that are bleach-free, it will probably give you the biggest grin of your tattooed life. Just a word of advice though. This innovation is not cheap and will not work immediately. It will take around a month or less to see its effects but it are keen on the idea of getting a body tan, you can do so without the fear that the colors of your tattoo will fade. I’m pretty sure you don’t want to use a tattoo removal cream because your tattoo was just like your friends; they faded away. So go out and enjoy the world! The joy of life is right ahead of you!
