FAQ

What Does CBD Balm Do?

HUSH CBD Healing Balm is best when used as aftercare following a tattoo appointment. CBD (cannabidiol) is an extract from the flowers of the hemp plant. When your tattoo is healing,  you want to only use products on it that are moisturizing and breathable with simple ingredients.

CBD reduces discomfort by blocking the effectiveness of glycine receptors, which are part of the central nervous system and responsible for sending pain information to the brain.

CBD extract supports the body’s natural response to inflammation. The redness, swelling, itchiness, and overall discomfort of a healing tattoo are because of the body’s immune response. The body reacts to a new tattoo like it’s a wound, but CBD extract has been shown to regulate this response as the skin heals.

Our CBD Healing Balm helps freshly inked skin retain moisture without clogging pores like other commonly used natural products like coconut oil or petroleum can.

How To Use CBD Balm

CBD Balm is best when used following our CBD Foaming Soap. After cleaning your tattoo, gently pat the area dry with a clean paper towel.

Apply directly on the tattooed skin. Gently massage the balm around the area until it has absorbed into the skin.

For this product, it’s important to keep it refrigerated for freshness. After use, return to the refrigerator until next time. This is great because it adds coolness which can feel nice on a new tattoo!

How Many Times a Day Can You Use CBD Balm?

When used topically, there’s not necessarily a minimum or maximum amount of times you should use it daily. We recommend that you use it after cleansing your tattoo to help lock in moisture.

How often you clean your tattoo with soap largely depends on your lifestyle and habits. We recommend cleaning it two to three times daily as it heals. After gently patting your skin dry, follow up with CBD Healing Balm to seal in moisture with fatty acids and reduce discomfort with natural botanicals.

How Long Does CBD Balm Take to Work?

CBD balm begins to work within minutes of application. When put on the tattoo, CBD balm only enters the top layers of skin without penetrating into the bloodstream. Because it is topical, it can quickly provide relief and moisture to the skin.
